Next-gen Apple iPhone could launch in September

This year could be a big one for Apple – we’re already waiting for the launch of OS X Lion later today, along with a refreshed Apple MacBook Air range, and it looks like the company could now have a launch date for its Apple iPhone 5 (or 4S, depending on what they call it).

The Apple iPhone 4 is already one of the best handsets on the market, but it’s faced some seriously tough opposition recently from the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S II. It may not have to put up a fight for much longer though, with the introduction of the Apple iPhone 5 as early as September.

Apple’s Peter Oppenheimer – the Chief Financial Officer – pointed out that sales of the iPhone during the last quarter of the year would be affected by “a future product transition” during September, hinting at the new model of iPhone.

Whether it’s an all-new iPhone 5, or just an updated version of the 4 – the iPhone 4S – remains to be seen, however. Would you buy an iPhone 4S? Or will you wait for an all new design? Leave a comment and let us know.
