HTC Rhyme to target girls?

HTC Rhyme to target girls?

There have been rumours of an Android smartphone that targets women floating round for a while, but some images of the device have now cropped up. Dubbed the HTC Rhyme, and previously known as the HTC Bliss, there are a host of decent features on offer.

The idea of a smartphone designed exclusively for women is something of a contentious one. It’s a concept that’s impossible to pin down – with previous examples proving stereotypical and unimaginative. If leaked shots of the HTC Rhyme are to be believed, however, women may finally be offered a handset that isn’t pink or covered in puppies!

The specs for the device look pretty impressive, with a high-res 800×480-pixel 3.7-inch screen, HSPA support, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi all in place. If the images are to be believed, the Rhyme will get rounded edges and pastel colours, with a pale green case in the pipeline.

We’d like to know what you think though – is it possible to design a smartphone that’s perfect for women, and what should it include? Contrary to what smartphone manufacturers appear to believe, plenty of women don’t like pink, and also like their smartphones to offer some features – so could HTC have finally got it right with the Rhyme?
