While Google has been making waves at its Google I/O conference this week, there’s Android news to celebrate elsewhere too. The busy worker bees at Vodafone have put together a full-fat Android Jelly Bean phone that’s an absolute bargain, announced today. Meet the Vodafone Smart III, a 4-inch smartphone that will only set you back £95 on Pay as you go. Is this your next knock down price phone?
While you usually get what you pay for, the Vodafone Smart III looks to give you a bit extra for your hard-earned cash. For the small price of £95 up-front or £13 a month on a 24 month contract, you’ll be treated to a roomy four-inch WVGA screen and a five-megapixel shooter on the back. Tucked under the hood, you’ll find a 1GHz processor backed up by 512MB of RAM to keep things running smoothly.
It’s also running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (rather than the older, slower Android 4.0 many cheaper phones are still stuck on) and it comes with the usual 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS connections too, not to mention full access to all the apps you could ever want in the Google Play store. It might not be a Samsung Galaxy S4, but if you need an Android Jelly Bean phone at a low price, this looks like a hard one to beat.
